Day 9 - Melbourne

We got up early and Lara took me to the nearest parkrun at Gardiners Creek.  I got there early and had a look around.  It is not one that attracts foreign tourists as they all go to nearby Jells, to get a J for the alphabet challenge.  I was the only foreign first timer and so many people came to say hello and thank me for coming, before, during and after the run.  I got a big cheer at the Run Director briefing.   I did my fastest time since being told of the stress fracture and no problem with my leg.  It was very cold and hammering down with rain.

We didnt expect such cold weather and dont really have the right clothing so I am wearing the clothes that I wore when we went to Heathrow!

Laras husband, Alan, picked me up and I had a shower before we all went to watch Pauls grandsons play basketball.  They are in the same team and won by a large margin.  It was still pouring down so we went to a bakery to get lunch and then back to Laras.  In the afternoon she took us to a photographic art exhibition in her workplace.

Still raining and very cold we went back to the house and played with the children before having Fish and Chips for our evening meal.  The fish here is called Flake and was very nice and a bit like cod.

We did a bit of packing up ready to move on tomorrow and had an early night.  It has stopped raining so we are hoping for a better day tomorrow.
